I am taking part in the groupexhibition entitled Work from New Members of the Amsterdam old (160 years) and very historical but nevertheless contemparary artsociety Arti et Amicitia, from 12 january till 27 january, 2008. This exhibition includes not only paintings but also video-art, projections, photograpy, sculptures and objects. I was glad to see that one of the biggest wall of the galleryspace was devoted to 2 of my 3 paintings. Here the pressrelease (in Dutch) of Arti et Amicitea, describing my contribution in transparent complimentary language.

I have registered myself on the site of the London gallery for contemporary art: Saatchi Online Gallery. The gallery offers artists around the world a platform to showcase their work. I created a special page (click on the direct link on top of this news item) with a small selection and introduction of my work. As visitor of this site you can send my page to your friends. Go and have a look, the site is huge and has lots of interesting features about modern art.
After registration I received a warm welcome from Mister Charles Saatchi himself. Quote: ‘Hello, very happy to see your work on Saatchi Online. I am thrilled that the standard is so high from such a variety of artists and hope it will be interesting to gallery owners, exhibition curators and collectors to see such diverse work.’

All participating artists are teachers in the educational culture centre Pier-K, where I am working as teacher portrait and modeling painting. The title of the exhibition Ready for take of refers to the temporary removal of our centre to another location end of june, due to renovation and expansion of the centre. I will exhibit my painting Building Castles In The Sky III 2003, see picture.
